If at all possible approach the University Science Area from the North, via the Banbury Road.

The Martin Wood Lecture Theatre is part of a modern complex to the right of the Clarendon Laboratory on Parks Road, and opposite Keble Road. The vehicle entrance is the one for the Clarendon Laboratory.

There are three pictures of the venue at www.physics.ox.ac.uk/conference/. If you click on "Travel" and then click on the link for the map you will find a good map in PDF format at www.physics.ox.ac.uk/contact/GettingToOxford.pdf

We plan to park classic vehicles immediately outside the Clarendon Laboratory using the same parking permit system that we use at Chemistry Research Laboratory (CRL). If arriving in a non-classic we will try to park you elsewhere in the Science Area. This parking area includes our usual parking space outside CRL, which is just a few minutes walk away. If you are parking elsewhere within the University area please only park within marked parking bays. Also, ensure that you display one of our permits in your car or else you risk getting clamped!

If we run out of space, there is free on-street parking after 18:30 in Keble Road, which is directly opposite the Clarendon Laboratory, and in Mansfield Road which is some five minutes walk away.

From the North

Approach Parks Road via Woodstock Road and Banbury Road. After turning left into Parks Road you will pass the railings of the University Parks on the LHS. After about 300 yds the entrance to the Clarendon Laboratory is then the first entrance on the LHS opposite Keble Road. If you get to South Parks Road you have gone too far.

From the East

Approach Parks Road via High Street, Longwall Street, St Cross Road and South Parks Road. Turn right at the traffic lights into Parks Road and pass on the RHS the University Museum and the Earth Science Department. The entrance to the Clarendon Laboratory is then the last entrance on the RHS opposite Keble Road. If you get to Banbury Road you have gone too far.
